Frequently asked questions

1.  What does vegan mean?
Vegan means that none of our ingredients contain animal products or byproducts (this includes dairy, eggs, and honey). While we know that not all of our customers' are vegetarians or vegans, our customer's health is very important to us.  By offering plant based foods, we are not only helping the environment, but we are also making it easier for you to select healthier choices (no cholesterol in any of our products!).

2.  What are artificial ingredients, and why would anyone use them?

Artificial ingredients come in many forms.  Sweeteners, flavors, preservatives, colors, etc.  Some examples are high fructose corn syrup, color dyes, aspartame, and saccharine.  Many manufacturers use these things to either achieve a desired color/taste at a fraction of the cost of the real thing, or to extend shelf life of a product. GroWild believes that the food you eat should have the REAL color and taste from using REAL ingredients. This is how nature intended us to eat.  We also do not use any artificial preservatives, because food shouldn’t naturally last years in a package on a shelf. Our products have a natural shelf life of 6 months (we are quite certain that they won’t last even that long in your home!).

3.  Why are your prices higher compared to similar products in stores?
GroWild is a company that does not mass produce anything in large warehouses.  All products are handmade in small batches to preserve the integrity of the flavor and the quality of your order. We also choose to use all natural and organic ingredients. We believe that staying true to who we are and what we believe in is more important than cutting costs (and your health) by using artificial ingredients. We purchase as many ingredients as possible from other local and small businesses that share our same value of preserving our earth and all of its creatures. Because of this, our prices may be higher than products in stores.

4.  How can I be sure that my online transaction is secure?
We take both your security and ours, very seriously.  You can rest assured that your online transaction is secure.  We use PayPal as our method of transacting payments.  Safeguarding your financial and personal information is Paypal's most important priority. They automatically encrypt all sensitive information sent between your computer and their servers.
You do NOT have to have a PayPal account to order from GroWild.  Ordering from us is fast and easy.  GroWild accepts payment via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

5.  How much does shipping cost?
For orders under $10, shipping charges will be $4.95.  For all orders over $10, shipping charges will vary from $10.70 (for up to 6 bags of granola) to $14.50 (for 7 or more bags).
These are fixed prices from the US Postal Service.  GroWild is not making money on any shipping charges.

6.  How is my order being shipped, and how long will it take?

GroWild ships all orders Priority Mail with the United States Postal Service.  You can expect to receive your order within 1 week from your order date, unless otherwise notified.
The Postal Service is the first mailing or shipping company to achieve Cradle to Cradle certification for their packaging. It’s recyclable, of course. But it's so much more than that. This is environmental "big picture" certification. It starts at the design stage, considers energy and water use through manufacturing, and ends with a product that can be safely recycled.  The Postal Service also has the largest civilian alternate fuel vehicle fleet in the nation.  Check out how our United States Postal Service strives to be green.

7.  Will you sell any of my information?
We will not sell any of your information to any marketing companies, spammers, magazines, credit card companies, telemarketers, vending machines, or robots.  Quite simply, we will not give any information obtained about you on this site to anyone (or anything!).

8.  Do you take requests or suggestions for products?
Definitely!  We are constantly looking for your feedback, suggestions, and comments. Please email info@growild.net with your product/flavor idea, and we will research it. We are very interested in what you have to say.  We hope that by actually listening to our customers (and not just saying we do!), your GroWild experience will become better every time.

9.  I would like to offer GroWild products in my retail store.  Is that possible?
GroWild products are already offered in some retail stores, and we are always looking to spread the word of health by expanding our retail presence.  Please contact Amanda at info@growild.net.

10.  Are your packages recyclable?

Unfortunately, our resealable granola packages are not recyclable at this time.  We have scoured the internet and the globe to find packaging that is eco-friendly while maintaining the freshness of our products.  We have been unable to find something that does both.  We are constantly looking for new solutions to meet both of these needs.  If you know of something that you think would help us achieve both desired goals, please let Amanda know at info@growild.net.

We encourage the re-use of our resealable bags.  You can wash them out and re-use them to store your own food, snacks, coins, kid’s toys, or anything else that you would normally use a resealable pouch for.  Please remember that when you re-use, you help to keep unnecessary items out of our landfills.

Reduce.  Reuse.  Recycle.  Respect.

11.  It says GroWild is an eco-conscious company.  How are you green?
With everything we do, we keep the environment in mind.  You can learn more about what we are doing every day here.

We have not inherited the land from our parents, but rather we are borrowing it from our children.

12.  What is the flower that is in your GroWild logo?
Any guesses?  That is the American dogwood.  The dogwood is the North Carolina state flower, and represents North Carolina's beauty.  The flowering dogwood blooms in springtime, turning hills and mountainsides across the state a snowy white, light pink or red.  The most common color of the wild dogwood is white, but shades of pink to near red have been found.

GroWild was born in Raleigh, NC, and Amanda wanted to incorporate the company’s roots into the logo by using the state flower.
